Cooper’s family created a scholarship for graduates of Marble Falls, Burnet, and other area high schools to be used for camps, colleges, or career skills certifications. The scholarship honors 9-year-old Cooper DeSpain, who passed away in an ATV accident in August 2014. Teams will rotate through 15 shooting stations. Registration is $500 for a four-person adult team, $250 for a four-woman team, and $250 for a four-youth team made up of ages 15 and younger. The 2019 event is Saturday, May 18, at Copperhead Creek Shooting Club in Marble Falls.
A big reason it can do so is the annual Shoot for Coop Sporting Clay Fundraiser.
The Cooper DeSpain Memorial Scholarship benefits at least eight Highland Lakes high school graduates every year.
